June 2020
For the final long weekend of my time in Germany, I took a trip up to Lübeck and Hamburg. I had heard a lot of great things about Hamburg and was saving it for a special occasion, it was well worth it.
We begun by taking a train to Lubeck for a night.
Lübeck is an attractive small city on the Baltic side of northern Germany and has lots of waterways running through the city.
Great seafood.
Sup duck?
Lübeck is famous for Marzipan, and for good reason. This whole model is made of Marzipan.
You can easily rent a boat and cruise around the city.
From Lübeck we went to Hamburg, still in northern Germany and a port city, but this time more on the North Sea side. Hamburg is certainly one of the nicest cities I have ever been to and would highly recommend. It is the second largest city in Germany behind Berlin.
Hamburg, and northern Germany, generally speaking has a liberal and laid back vibe. It is easy going and open minded.
Caught a bit of a rainbow, and a boat of gold.
Checked out an impressive miniature museum called Miniature Wonderland. They had different exhibits from all over the world.
Can you find where they do not have any visitors from?
Behind the scenes look at how it all happens.
The soccer team.
Lots of great street art.
What a great leader looks like.
Another great leader is in this picture.
You can have a crazy good time in Hamburg.
