My final week in Germany was really enjoyable. We headed to Garmisch-Partenkirchen to enjoy a few days in the beautiful Bavarian Alps. This is my favorite outdoors area in Germany.

I have really enjoyed traveling around Germany by train.
The next day we rode a cable car up to one of the peaks and then hiked down.
Crawled through a cave to get to a cross.
Got caught in a storm.
The following day we took the cable car all the way up to Zugspitze, the highest point in Germany. This is a picture of me pointing at the wrong point.
That is the actual summit.
You can only access the true summit by really hiking, maybe next time.
After our exhausting cable car ride up, we headed down to walk around the lake and go for a swim.

The next day we headed to Cochem to see a castle I saw on Instagram.

After visiting so many castles, I decided it was time to stay in one. We continued our way down the Mosel and to the Rhine, where we stayed a night at Burghotel Auf Schönburg.
When the Romans came to Germany they brought wine with them, and there are now many vineyards throughout the Rhineland.
I can see why kings like castles.
My final full day it Germany took us closer to the airport in Frankfurt and we stayed in Rüdesheim on the Rhine.
Crossing the Rhine on the way to a romantic Rhine tour. It is a nice tour, but kind of awkward when you are breaking up the next day. While my girlfriend and I were still having a nice time together, we decided to separate when I had to go back to the USA. She requested to not be in my blog, which is why I use the pronoun we and only post pictures of me.
This statue was created as an embodiment of the power of a unified Germany, by Emperor Wilhelm and Count Otto von Bismarck.
