Backpacking in Bali and Another Night in Singapore

August 2019

This is the view around our guesthouse, in Ubud, called Bali Moon. All houses have a family temple. While Indonesia is the worlds largest majority Muslim country, Bali is mostly Hindu.

Lots of beautiful temples throughout the island. Bali is a lot bigger than I realized, over 4 million people live on the island, almost as many as Ireland.

There is a monkey sanctuary in the middle of Ubud.

They said do not make eye contact.

Dan made eye contact.

Blessings are a big deal in Bali. Every shop and home has a little offering dish in front.

After the monkey sanctuary, we went to Elephant Cave.

The next day came the craziest part of our whole trip. We rented mopeds and drove them 75km to the other side of the island and back. The roads are absolutely crazy here and I am amazed we never crashed, too hard. We got a lot of amazing views along the way and it was well worth it to go to these incredible waterfalls. We did a water slide and some smaller jumps before we did a 50ft jump.

The next day we did some white water rafting. The incredible jungle views were the best part of this day trip.

Ubud Market.

This guys poop makes great coffee, apparently.

Before heading back to San Diego, we did one last night in Singapore. And slept in space pods. The Merlion is the symbol of Singapore.

Gardens by the Bay is amazing.

Every night has a new light show./

Singapore is certainly one of the finest cities in the world.
