I liked Nepal so much last year; I had to go back. This time, I went for trekking, which is the best reason to visit Nepal.

Chili chicken Momos are definitely a favorite.

Pokhara, from Splendid View Hotel.

My guide Sumraj and porter Sujan were great, and having them made it a really enjoyable trip. I later found out they are cousins and have been working together for over 25 hikes. I was fortunate to have them.

Our route to Mardi Himal base camp.

It was so peaceful and nice hiking through the woods.

Nice having Sujan carry my bag, with his bag inside as well.

It is not easy.

Now I have a favorite mountain, Fishtail Mountain.

My mom calls me Beans.

So glad I had a nice backpack for Sujan to carry our stuff; many of the porters are carrying bags on their necks.

You’re living pretty simply making your way up the mountains.

Typical mountain meal.

I was advised not to eat meat on the mountain, so having protein powder and electrolytes was very helpful.

Hike and hang out.

Low camp.

Tried Raksi, local millet liquor. It is pretty good.

You can eat buffalo because it is dried and it is delicious.

Meeting Raj was a trip highlight. Gave this good old boy a belly rub, and he led/followed us for hours.

One of my favorite places I have played backgammon.

So nice to see stars again.

Grateful for this warm-up shack and tea after a 4 am sunrise hike.

When you do cool things, you meet cool people.

Wild volleyball game. Occasionally interrupted by donkeys, sheep, or the ball falling off a cliff.

Thank you for the supplies.

Freshening up with fresh mountain water.

Life highlight trip for sure. Thank you Sumraj and Sujan.
