Popped over to Salzburg, Austria for a weekend getaway, it was a great place to get away to.
This performer had a good reason to smile. While cleaning out my flat we collect all of my coins, probably near 100 euro worth, and decided to give them to the first street performer we saw. We gave him a bag of coins and he gave us a magnet.
Can you figure out how he floats?
Johann Chrysostom Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in his hometown.
Lots of beautiful shop displays throughout the city. This painted egg and Christmas shop was particularly good.
This is where Mozart was born in 1756.
Fancy McDonald’s.
Red Bull is from Austria, Kangaroos are not.
A druid as remembrance of their Celtic roots. While we often associate Celtic culture with Ireland, it originated closer to Austria and was prevalent throughout much of Europe.
The fortress overlooks the city and this beautiful graveyard.
A view from Fortress Hohensalzburg. I love cities in the mountains with rivers running through. Innsbruck, Austria is another good one.
Unicorn horn was highly valued for its magical properties. In reality Southern Europeans were paying huge sums for narwhal horns from their Scandinavian neighbors.
This restaurant was built in 807 CE, the 807 cocktail is delicious.
Puppet shop.
Sunday morning stroll.
Salzburg is beautiful and I would certainly recommend.
