Christmas Spirit in Stuttgart, Munich, and Austria

December 2019

It was really nice to have Mom and Chelsea come out to visit me the week before Christmas. It is a great time of year in Germany, and surrounding areas, because there are Christmas markets in every town.

Lots of chocolate going around school.

We went to the Stuttgart Christmas Market the first night.

We were supposed to go to Strasberg, France the second night, but could not go because all of the trains were closed due to protests. This worked out just fine because it allowed us to go to the medieval Christmas market is Esslingen.

Gluewein and pulled pork. All of the stalls have phenomenal decorations.

“Kid’s games”

Mad alchemist.

The following day we headed to Munich. This is one of my favorite cities in Europe.

Surfers come from all over the world to surf this continuous wave in the English Garden.

Stopped by the Bavarian History Museum.

Toy workshop. Kids could build their own wooden train sets.

From Germany we headed to Gerlos, Austria to do some skiing. Mom went skiing for the first time in over 20 years and got a lesson from Hanz.

From Gerlos we headed to Innsbruck. Absolute gem.

Cool clock shop. Got a mechanical watch that runs without a battery.

Innsbruck is a charming city nestled in the Alps with a river running through.
