Weekends in Europe: Switzerland, France, Germany

September 2019

The school year has begun and I am making the most of the final few warm weekends. I took a trip with some new friends in the military to Switzerland. We did an afternoon in Zurich.

Then went to Interlaken for the night. We ate in the glass part of the building, great view.

After school one day I went with another teacher to pick up his daughter at this awesome place. This is such a great environment for kids to be able to run around and create. Kids have built most of the structures, and if they want riding lessons they have to work for them.

The next weekend I went back to Strasbourg, France. It was nice to be there with everything still in bloom. Was not expecting to come across a zombie march.

Walked though a bike festival.

The next weekend I took two really nice day trips to towns close to Stuttgart.

First to Esslingen, Germany.

These grapes make great wine.

When I travel, I have a rule. Once I am ready to turn around, I go a little further. Many of my best finds have come this way, such as this furry festival.

The next day I went back to the worlds’ largest pumpkin festival in Ludwigsburg, Germany.

Saw some outrageous pumpkin paddling races. People get inside hollowed out giant pumpkins and race around the pond.

Beautiful palace, with beautiful gardens, and loads of pumpkins.

I had one sip, thought to myself, “wow this is really good.” Guess this bee liked it even more.

Rapunzel’s Castle. You can yell and they lower her hair.

Nice to be back in Europe.
