Wrapping up Summer 2019: California, Maryland, New York, Italy

August 2019

After a phenomenal month in Asia, I headed back to San Diego for a week to catch up with old friends and revisit favorite places.

Thank you Nick Cage, for everything.

We drove over an hour to do the Three Sisters hike, but it was closed because of a heat advisory. However, we got this view and a great breakfast, so, worth it.

Went to the Del Mar Racetrack for a Trombone Shorty concert. Caught the last two races of the day. Placed two bets, won both, had a good night.

After San Diego I retuned home to Maryland for the first time in 15 months. Since leaving home in May of 2018, I have been to 22 countries. It has been my best year yet.

It was nice to meet Dylan, the newest member of the family, for the first time.

And to stop by our old family farm, which in now Inverness Brewing. The beer is pretty good and the setting even better.

This was once the most disgusting part of the entire farm.

This is were dad’s horses used to be, it is now where they brew the beer.

We also had a big party with over 150 of our closest family and friends with the Jodi West Band playing.

My claim to fame at the Elkridge Harford Hunt Club.

Was glad to have the opportunity to meet the newest human member of the family. This is my cousin Holden Bosley.

He is a happy little guy and sure loves his daddy, Digges.

And sister Gwen.

Bluemount Rd. is still my running road.

Had a great day tubing down the Gunpowder river.

And crabs for dinner.

We are having a new addition put on, and Chelsea made the most of the space while it is under construction. You can tell she studies interior design.

We drew ourselves on the wall, because that is what people do. Right?

It was nice having Chelsea’s friends come stay for the weekend.

Went for a great hike with mom up to King and Queen Seat.

After a great time at home I went up to the city to see some of my college friends before flying back to Germany.

You may like to know that the Metropolitan museum has roof access. Nice place to get a drink and a view of Manhattan.

Terra Blues is a great Jazz Club and I really enjoyed seeing King Solomon preform, but not as much as the guy in front of me.

Went to a spy museum, Spyscape, and took a series of tests that deemed me an agent handler.

Flew back to Germany from JFK and spent a full day home before heading off to Italy.

Looks like Mt. Vesuvius is ready to blow again.

The Amalfi coast is gorgeous. Had a great day on a boat going down the coast and heading to Capri for lunch.

When you travel with military friends.

Ruins of a Roman city.

It has been an incredible summer and looking forward to a great school year.
